Marleyn klaani

”Kaikki” tuntevat Bob Marleyn ja hänen tuotantonsa ainakin pintapuolisesti – Legend-kokoelma (1984) on eräs maailman myydyimmistä levyistä – mutta Marleyn suku on ansioitunut musiikin saralla muutenkin. Hänen poikansa Damian, Stephen, Julian ja Ziggy ovat yltäneet Yhdysvalloissa satojen tuhansien levymyyntiin ja hänen Cedella-tyttärensä poika Skip vierailee Katy Perryn tuoreella singlellä Chained to the Rhythm. Skipistä tuli suvun toinen top ten -brittihitin tekijä.

Vähemmälle huomiolle on jäänyt reggae-artisti Ky-Mani Marley, joka sattumalta hävisi veljelleen Damianille kilpailun parhaan reggae-albumin Grammy-tittelistä vuonna 2002. Ziggy Marleyn Melody Makers -ryhmässä puolestaan oli muitakin perheenjäseniä, mm. Cedella.

Koostin tähän varauksella täydellisen listan Marleyn suvun brittihiteistä sijoitusjärjestyksessä. Brittihiteistä siksi, että Bob ei ollut mikään suuri Hot 100 -suosikki, vaan saavutti enemmän listamenestystä Isossa-Britanniassa. Samoin on käynyt Damianille.
